St. Mogue’s National School (Scoil Náisiúnta Naomh Maodhóg) is a co-educational Roman Catholic school under the patronage of the Catholic Bishop of the Diocese of Kilmore. There are three mainstream class teachers, and two special education teachers. We currently have 68 children on our roll.

Greens Schools update

On Thursday 20th October, Conor Craven, the environmental awareness officer with Cavan County Council paid us a visit. He met with our newly-formed Green Schools committee and also gave a presentation to everyone in the school to raise awareness about litter and waste. 

 

Under 12 Girl's Football

Congratulations to the Templeport Under 12 Girl's Football team who won their final in the Breffni 3G pitch on Saturday 15th October.  They beat a very talented Shercock team.  Well done to Emma (Joint Captain) and all her team mates:  Saoirse, Mollie, Rachel, Tess, Uainíonn and Cáit. 

Nature walk on the Golden Way

Science field trip

Soft play area

Work will begin shortly on a soft play area for the junior classes. This will be a welcome addition to our school facilities.  Thanks to Micheal Maguire for all his help with this project.

A huge welcome to all our new junior infants joining us this year:  Thomas Crowe, Paudie Corrigan, Eliot Hegarty, Fergal McGovern, Luke McKiernan-Stojak, Danielle Maguire, Lucy Maguire, Mya McCauley, Eve Magee, Natalie McIntyre and Katelyn Reilly.  We hope they will have many happy years of learning here.  A special word of welcome to the new families joining our school community.  Indeed many of these parents are themselves past pupils of St. Mogue's N.S.!! As part of our school improvement plan (SIP) for numeracy, each teacher will take two classes for maths lessons. This ensures more individual attention for each child throughout the school in that subject.

The girls were very unlucky to lose the 2016 Cuman na mBunscol football final after extra time. They put in a fantastic performance and should be very proud of themselves.
